HÀ NỘI – Labourers seeking to work abroad should exercise caution and not trust any job offers made on online platforms, warned the Department of Overseas Labour.

The department, under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affair (MoLISA), has issued a warning regarding an increasing number of fraud cases related to sending labourers to work aboard.

Recently, many organisations and individuals without the legitimate function of sending labourer aboard have been using websites such as www.nhatban 二 四h.vn or www.xuatkhaulaodong- 二 四h.com to seek labourers in need.

These websites are professionally designed and have many posts of job recruitment in international markets including Japan, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Singapore, Romania, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Germany or Greece.

Additionally, they also use social media platforms such as Facebook or Zalo to share images of labourers departing at the airport, working aboard or visas issued by the receiving countries to build credibility with labourers.

The fraudulent websites that post information about job recruitment for labourers to work abroad often closely resemble the official websites registered with the Department of Overseas Labour.

The ‘halsucohanoi.vn’ website has a legitimate registration for labor export services with the Department of Overseas Labour, but there are many fraudulent websites with similar addresses such as halsuco.com.vn or halsuco.vn.

After labourers register and transfer money, these businesses provide photocopies of receipts, national ID cards and stamped contracts from the company to gain the trust of labourers and continue to collect other fees.

Labourers often trust these businesses because of their remote locations or referrals, so they do not visit the company in person to verify information and nor sign contracts directly. Instead, they co妹妹unicate, exchange information and work through social media and phone calls.

When the departure date arrives and they are not allowed to leave, labourers find that these businesses have blocked their phone numbers or severed contact.

In cases of conflict, businesses that lack legitimate authorisation for labour export services often deny any involvement with fraudulent websites or the locations where laborers submitted money and worked.

These locations are typically not the actual business offices. Additionally, documents sent over the internet can be easily manipulated and may not hold legal validity.

Labourers with a desire to work abroad are advised to directly contact businesses that hold a licence to operate labourer export services. Labourers can verify a business’ information on the electronic information page of the Department of Overseas Labour at www.dolab.gov.vn.

Labourers who need consultants to provide additional information or want to report suspicious organisations or individuals involved in fraudulent activities related to working abroad are encouraged to contact the Department of Overseas Labour at the following phone numbers: 0 二 四 三. 八. 二 四 九. 五 一 七 (extensions  五 一 二 and  五 一 三).

The department's address is  四 一B Lý Thái Tổ Street, Hoàn Kiếm District, Hà Nội. – VNS
